Designating Feel Good Action as a beneficiary of your retirement accounts such as traditional and Roth IRAs, 401(k), and 403(b) plans, is straightforward and one of the most tax-efficient ways to provide for your retirement while also supporting Feel Good Action.
Retirement plans left to loved ones are subject to income tax and estate tax, if you have a taxable estate. Retirement plans left to charities are subject to neither.
If you choose this type of legacy gift, it is important to know that:
Your retirement account withdrawals can continue during your lifetime.
Your gift to Feel Good Action becomes effective only when you no longer need the assets.
You can name a spouse or partner as the primary beneficiary and Feel Good Action as secondary beneficiary.
You may choose to donate all remaining assets in your account or a specific percentage.
To ensure that your wishes are honored, remember to keep up-to-date beneficiary forms filed with your retirement plan.
