Alabama Justice Initiative is a non-profit organization whose mission is working to end mass incarceration, probation, and parole crisis, and practices that cause harm to black and brown communities. We do this by organizing individuals directly impacted and building collective power to change policies that drive social change. This work starts with getting these individuals registered to vote.
AJI is a group of black women who are organizers, directly impacted, strategists who are committed to building a community of advocates and elevating the voices of Alabamians by building power through social justice advocacy.
AJI’s Reimagine Justice Summit
The Reimagine Justice Summit is a free annual event for policymakers, advocates, and grassroots organizations to gather and discuss criminal justice reforms throughout Alabama. The program is centered on uplifting the benefits of criminal justice reforms for Alabama’s economy and communities.
